Up to now, SCGY has enrolled 32 grades of students with a total number of 2412, and 1875 of them have graduated. Of all the graduates left SCGY, about 80% went to a graduate school worldwide. In 1980s and 1990s, the admission rate of graduate school in China is less than 10%, However, more than 70% SCGY students went to graduate school during that time. 45 SCGY students were selected by the CUSPEA project during 1981-1987, and seven of them got national top 5 in different years. 

Of all the graduates left SCGY for more than 10 years, 90.9% of them got master (26.9%) or doctoral (64%) degree in China or abroad. Hundreds of them continue their graduate study in the most famous universities in the world, such as Harvard University, MIT, Stanford University, etc. Many alumni have made remarkable contributions in their own fields in science and technology. Among them there have been the youngest Bachelor, Master, Ph.D., Professor, Fellows, and there are IEEE fellows, APS Fellows, Member of Max Plank Society, Fellow of the Optical Society of America, Fellow of American College of Medical Informatics, numerous winners of NSF Career Award, Alfred P. Sloan Fellow, Genius Awards, Searle Scholar Program, HHMI (Howard Hughes Medical Institute)Investigator, Parkard Science and Engineering Fellowship, Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers: PECASE, Fellow of the World Innovation Foundation, Early Career Principal Investigator Award, MRS Outstanding Young Investigator, etc. More over, there are also many alumni making great achievements in industry, press, commerce, finance or other areas.
