SGY Organized the 2025 Spring Semester Rose Study Tour - Hangzhou
School of the Gifted Young (SGY) organized a study tour to Hangzhou from May 23 to 25, bringing over 40 students to visit Alibaba Group and Zhijiang Laboratory. Through on-site tours, lectures, and alumni dialogues, participants learned about cutting-edge information technology.

Students engaged in lively discussions.

On May 25, students toured the exhibition hall and Astronomical Computing Research Center at Zhijiang Laboratory. They attended the science lecture “The Three-Body Constellation: How to Send Computing to the Heavens?”, sparking boundless imagination about the future of computing technology. During the alumni dialogue session, Tu Pingke (Class of 1982), Quan Donghui (Class of 1993), Ge Haiwen (Class of 1994), Duan Manni (Class of 2000), Qi Yuqiu (Class of 2002), and Wang Jiawei (Class of 2009) engaged in discussions with students, addressing student questions in detail.

The “Rose Study Tour” has successfully organized over 30 sessions since its launch in 2021, with support from the “Rose College Development Fund” established through a generous donation by Ms. Ma Dongmin, a Class of 1985 alumna of SGY. The program has taken over a thousand students to seven innovation hubs—Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Hefei—visiting nearly 50 high-tech enterprises and research institutions.
